LSRI-A (Light Sport Repairman Inspection - Aircraft) Course
Upon completing the course, the in-person attendee will gain the FAA certification and technical skills required to perform professional-grade inspections on your experimental amateur built or experimental light sport aircraft. Our in-person training at Stag Air Park blends EAB/ELSA focused inspection experience, FAA requirements with well-established instruction methods/techniques.
Course Syllabus & Curriculum
The comprehensive (FAA Approved In-Person curriculum) 16-hour curriculum is designed for experimental and light-sport aircraft owners that would like to perform their own conditional inspection. This in-person training at Stag Air Park (7NC1) balances technical theory with hands-on practice, ensuring you gain the precision and confidence required to perform the conditional inspection. Note - There are pre course and post course on-line curriculum available (but not required) to further enhance/improve the learning experience associated with the in-person curriculum.
FAA Regulations
Provides for an understanding of the conditional inspection legal framework, certification requirements, and documentation standards for Light Sport Repairmen and Experimental aircraft owners.
Airframe Systems
In-depth inspection techniques for airframe structures, control systems, and landing gear, focusing on precision and integrity of flight components.
Engine Systems
Practical inspections (overview / techniques) for typical LSA engines- including cooling, fuel, gearbox and electrical systems.
Propellers & Appliances
Inspection techniques for propellers, and appliances (Avionics, brakes, etc.)
Hardware, Corrosion & Weight and Balance
A thorough review of aircraft hardware, types of corrosion and corrosion control in aircraft structures, and the importance of weight and balance
Inspection (Practical)
Using the techniques described in the course the student will use a checklist to conduct an inspection of a light sport experimental aircraft (examples used in course - Legend Cub, Starduster Too Biplane, Just Highlander or C162)

The lead course instructors are FAA Certified A&Ps and a FAA Certified Light Sport Repairman with a Maintenance certification. The lead instructors bring more than 100 years of combined experience in military and civil aviation to the course.
