LSRI - Airplane Course
EAA Chapter 297 hosts an FAA approved Light Sport Repairman–Inspector Course (LSRI 062601) at 7NC1. The course is offered once a quarter with a maximum attendance of 16 individuals per course. (A wait list is available)
The course takes place in Stag Air Parks EAA Chapter 297’s meeting room, affectionately called the “No Whining Saloon.” Practical Hands-on training takes place in the aircraft hangars next to the No Whining Saloon.
LSRI Course Logistics
When to Arrive
Please arrive promptly at 7:30 AM each morning at 7NC1. Class begins at 8:00 AM, and administrative tasks must be completed beforehand.
What to Bring
Laptop Computer (optional). The classroom tables can accommodate laptops, and electrical outlets will be available. Each student will receive a thumb drive containing relevant reference documents.
What to Wear
The meeting room is climate-controlled. Saturday is spent mostly in the No Whining Saloon (classroom), so dress comfortably. On Sunday afternoon, you will perform inspection procedures in the aircraft hangars; wear comfortable work clothes appropriate for the season and outdoor temperature.
Food & Refreshments
Coffee and pastries will be available each morning before class.
Coffee, water, soda, and snacks will be available throughout the day.
Lunch will be provided each day of class.

We recommend attendees stay at local historic inns or nearby modern hotels in Burgaw. These locations offer warm hospitality and easy access to the airfield for an immersive course experience.
Wilmington, NC (a beach & tourist town) offers many quality hotels. From Wilmington, NC depending on the location, the drive to Stag Air Park is approximately 45 minutes.
The Inn at River Landing, located along I-40 near Wallace, NC, is about 25 minutes from Stag Air Park and next to the Mad Boar Restaurant & Pub.
The Burgaw Motel, near the intersection of US-117 and NC-53 in Burgaw, is about 10 minutes from Stag Air Park. Several restaurants are within walking distance, with additional options in downtown Burgaw, NC.
